ROXAS CITY — Sen. Mar Roxas, chairman of the Senate Committee on Trade and Commerce, yesterday lamented the excessive cost of pharmaceuticals in the country, saying that with the additional 10 percent value added tax (VAT) on medical services and the impending 12 percent expanded EVAT in 2006, the costs of health "will become more sickeningly prohibitive."
